At least one bank will be offering cheap loans this month. Yorkshire Bank announced this week that throughout the month of August they will be offering fee-free cheap mortgages to applicants. While not everyone is guaranteed an approval, this move should bring the bank many new customers seeking cheap loans. As fees for loans continue to go up across the country, this move should definitely be in Yorkshire Bank’s favor. Consumers are finding it harder than ever to get a cheap loan, but at least for this month they know where they can find at least one. Whether more banks will follow in their footsteps remains to be seen.
Gary Lumby, Yorkshire Bank’s Head of Retail said: “We know people are feeling the pinch right now and want to help make mortgages more affordable. That is why our fee-free switching package is an excellent deal for anyone whose current mortgage deal is coming to an end.
“Instead of homeowners having to switch to a Standard Variable Rate when their mortgage term expires with their existing lender, we will work with them to look for the right mortgage rate and waive the arrangement fee.”
